Beelining courses were lush and manicured parks enjoyed by even non-beekeepers, but over time, most were converted to more profitable uses, like golf courses, housing developments, office parks, and bauxite mines.  If not for beelining, New York's Central Park would have never been set aside as "green space" in the midst of the city.
